Feeling the love

When Tico did his 100th visit last year the students gave him a token for his collar to mark the occasion. It was sweet and gratifying for me. Last week, one of our volunteers, Eric forwarded me a roll of adorable pictures students had drawn with crayon to thank him and Simba for their visit. Sometimes the “thank you” comes in a less obvious way: The manager of a social agency that I visit with Tico told me last week that the youth we were seeing regularly was displaying marked improvement in their mood on the days when Tico visited. We won’t always get tokens or cards but it’s obvious to all of us that these visits with our doggies are having a positive impact on the people we are seeing. A big “thank you” to all of our volunteers!
