October Happenings in York Region
On October 5th, York Region Sunshine Therapy Dogs were in attendance at the annual Sugarbush Heritage Dog Park Halloween event sponsored by local councillor, Chris Ainsworth. It was a great opportunity to connect with dog lovers and spread the word about our organization and the meaningful impact our therapy dog teams have in the community. Our team was kept busy sharing information, answering questions and encouraging others to get involved.
Just last weekend York Region conducted a group assessment for 16 candidate therapy dog teams as part of our ongoing efforts to expand Sunshine Therapy Dogs services in Richmond Hill, Newmarket, Vaughan, Markham, and King City areas. We’re looking forward to getting to know our newest therapy dog teams, and welcoming them into our program to help bring comfort and connection to communities across York Region.
