I forgot to check my calendar this AM until after my coffee only to see that I had a Sunshine visit at 8:30AM up in Agincourt. I raced out the door with Tico and made it only 10 minutes late 🙂
It was a corporate visit which sometimes I wonder about because the audience I’m MOST interested in is young adults suffering from anxiety, depression and emotional illness. But, I ran into a volunteer leaving her shift and she told me the following:
“Just a follow up from our conversation at Toronto Hydro today. I wanted to share with you that volunteering for Sunshine Therapy Dogs has completely changed my life. I feel I have a new purpose, and it brings me such comfort and joy.
Nacho and Winnie are also having a wonderful time, and when those blue bandanas come out they start dancing around, ready to go spread some Sunshine.”
I met some wonderful employees on the visit, Tico was a star as always but it was the volunteer’s comment that made absolutely made my week.
